FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE (FTI)

Harris is deploying telecommunications infrastructure tools in the U.S. and is working abroad to ensure global networks are safer and more secure. The FTI network provides critical voice, data, and video communications for National Airspace System (NAS) operations and mission support functions. FTI securely connects over 4,500 national and international FAA and Department of Defense (DoD) facilities, manages over 22,000 services, and supports over 50,000 users. Industry experts agree that Harris’ architecture “represents industry best practice and provides the FAA with significant improvements in reliability and capacity for future growth.”

ALASKAN SATELLITE TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE (ASTI)

By increasing network performance and availability through satellite communications, the Alaskan Satellite Telecommunications Infrastructure will replace and upgrade the existing Alaskan inter-facility communications system that links the Alaskan Air Route Traffic Control Center in Anchorage with 64 facilities throughout the region, including 59 remote sites.

AeroMACS

AERONAUTICAL MOBILE AIRCRAFT COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (AEROMACS)

Harris AeroMACS can be used by general aviation pilots and crews to help them gain access to System Wide Information Management (SWIM) data and better improve flight safety. It supports by supporting clearance negotiations, providing real-time updates to aircraft, and supports taxi instructions.
