VOICE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR THE 21ST CENTURY (VCS21)

Harris introduces VCS21™, a global, next-generation Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication system designed for air traffic management communications. Its network-centric approach replaces proprietary, time-division multiplexing communications hardware with standards-based, VoIP-enabled voice nodes reducing dependency on traditional point-to-point communications. The product was generated from proven air traffic control algorithms with over 18+ million systems hours of combined operation in more than 50 countries.

Liberty-STAR VCS

LIBERTY-STAR VOICE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (VCS)

The Liberty-STAR VCS provides a complete solution for all air traffic control applications. Using a modular, client-server architecture with open-platform software and commercial-off-the-shelf hardware, the Liberty-STAR VCS provides a reliable, scalable solution suited to the variety of air traffic control operational requirements available for civil and military organizations.

NVS

NATIONAL AIR SPACE (NAS) VOICE SYSTEM (NVS)

NVS operates as a fully-networked voice enterprise, enabling enhanced capabilities for business continuity planning, asset sharing, future facilities expansion, and support for emerging requirements such as control of unmanned aircraft systems. NVS is based on the Harris VCS21 family of commercial off-the-shelf voice communication solutions. VCS21 hosts the proven features of legacy air traffic control systems— including the current Harris Voice Switching Control System—on an IP platform with enhanced management and control capabilities.

VSCS

VOICE SWITCHING AND CONTROL SYSTEM (VSCS)

The VSCS from Harris provides the FAA with a computer-controlled, highly distributed system to support air-to-ground and ground-to-ground communications. Primary communication features are available at the touch of a finger for air traffic controllers at 21 FAA Air Route Traffic Control Center locations. This highly reliable system has been operational since 1997 and has exceeded its planned program duration.

FS21

FLIGHT SERVICES FOR THE 21ST CENTURY (FS21)

FS21 is the first nationwide, networked communications system in the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS). It implements many of the ideas of a “seamless adaptive communications system” by integrating multiple air traffic facilities. This fully digital voice communications system, which has been proven to have 99.99999% availability, has delivered a solution that networked 578 operator positions into 20 sites, 17 Automated Flight Service Stations (AFSS), and three hubs across the U.S.

Unmanned Aircraft Solutions

Harris Unmanned Aircraft Solutions provide ways to find “Lost Communication” of the unmanned aerial vehicle pilot to the air traffic controller independent of the location of aircraft or the geographic location of the pilot. Communications are divided into two networks: direct voice links and radio relay. In addition, our solutions can be leveraged for voice connections between pilot and air route traffic control centers.
